Understanding Food Access Programs

It can be tough to understand our food system. Particularly challenging are the various food access programs with differing rules and communities they reach. It’s important to do this, if we hope to reimagine how our food system could work more equitably for more people. To help, we’ve collected some resources to explain how the system works spanning everything from the view of families currently trying to use the system to how federal, state and local policies interact.

A family view

Families and individuals who use various food access programs are the experts. Their lived experience is critical to understand if we intend to make a better, more equitable experience for all. The Blueprint convened community members using the programs to help capture the opportunities and ongoing challenges of their experience.
