Behind the scenes of a transformative year
May 15, 2025
Last year was all about transformation for the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger, both in how we show up in community and how we lead.
We evolved internally by reimagining our organization’s role, mission, and structure to better reflect our values and community priorities—and to fully center equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and justice in all of our work. Our new mission embodies that commitment: to build a movement for a more responsive, equitable, and sustainable food system by shifting power to our Colorado communities. And we remain anchored by our shared vision of a Colorado where everyone can access the food they choose, where they want it, and when they need it.
We also deepened our external impact—alongside our broad and diverse network of partners—to alleviate hunger now while building a better food future for everyone. Together, we uplifted community voices, expanded food access, advocated for bold policy change, strengthened community capacity, and more.
We invite you to explore our 2024 Impact Report, which is a reflection of our shared work, learning, and momentum that’s moving us forward.
Inside, you’ll find out how we:
Supported community leadership and power through our Advocacy Leadership Academy and Community Voice Committee
Expanded Coloradans’ access to federal nutrition programs by supporting small businesses with SNAP/WIC retailer certification and helping secure Summer EBT benefits for eligible students through state legislative advocacy
Linked food, health, and policy by building a statewide coalition to integrate food access into Medicaid and public health strategies
Advanced equity in agriculture by convening a farmer-led coalition that helped Colorado’s new Farm Equity Office
Piloted innovative solutions like the Restaurant Meals Pilot Project to expand dignity-centered food access and inform future SNAP policy in Colorado
Championed school food justice through a statewide marketing campaign and community-led outreach to support Healthy School Meals for All

Our collective achievements have made a real impact, bringing us closer to food justice and sovereignty in Colorado—where all communities have the power to shape their own local food systems and everyone has access to the nourishing, culturally meaningful food they need and deserve to thrive.
As we reflect on the progress made in 2024, we are deeply grateful to our now-sunsetted Governing Council, our many network members, and those whose generous funding makes this possible. All of this work belongs to you—the community we serve—and we are indebted to your support.
