Update on SNAP & the federal budget

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed harmful budget cuts that would significantly impact the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other vital public benefit programs in Colorado like Medicaid.
The budget reconciliation bill now moves to the Senate, where it will undergo mark-ups and may be amended before a final vote. A vote is expected before the July 4th recess, though this could change depending on how negotiations unfold. If the Senate makes changes, the bill will return to the House for another vote.
